why cant i play the video, all i get is a black screen

I just downloaded the 1.12.1 vanillia wow client for macOS and when I start it i just get a black screen and nothing happens. Can you help me out?

... Pro 3 for playing WoW, but the only good resolution that doesn't have black margins is the native resolution, 2160x1440. This results in my device becoming somewhat hot, and since the screen is so small, I wager it wouldn't even get warm if I halved the resolution. ...

I have the exact same issue.
I find it totally random when the black screen appears.
Must reboot the computer, nothing else works.
Other programs continue running after black screen appears, though. For example, I can keep talking over Skype even after the black screen appears.

... ADB and WTF folders. Still got nothing but crash report after about 30s black screen. Can't even see my cursor during the black screen. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Ok so after playing for like 30min i get a black screen, and it sounds like a blue screen type of crashing so i have to restart my pc. I don't think ...

When I set the refresh rate to 144 hz in the ingame video options the screen turns black for a second, but does not apply the change. 120 hz is working fine, but the game won't keep 144 hz.

How can I fix this? Or is this even intended?
