Indeed, small individual donations are not possible anymore. What is suggested is that if a group of players decides they want to donate, they must pool their money and give it in the amounts asked for on this page. We do not recommend players giving money to anyone they do not know. We realize that some players enjoy donating to the server and can only do so in small amounts and may feel like this change is bad. We feel that the pros of transparency outweigh the negatives.

As we've stated many times before, the Nostalrius team makes no money and we are not working on this project to profit financially in anyway. Much the opposite, we had provided ourselves for the server through both finances and opportunity cost in the time we've given to the server. This change in how we operate is to be 100% transparent and be perfectly clear about what donations will do.

HT = before VAT, TTC = after VAT, "soit" meaning "i.e." here.

229,99 + 20% (VAT) = 275,98€.


So the real amount you gotta pay is the TTC one, 275,98€.
The difference is for our french IRS :3.

for people who have played since the launch 1 year ago,

275 euros / 12months = 22.9 euros a month for rough avg. (or 25 US dollars)

if people figure that they played here for a whole year for free and backpay a year's subscription. that would be the rough total I assume.


maybe guilds can host their own donation page or something and submit the culmination to a payment or 2.

would need some financial savy ppl to break it down more since this is Euro's and such. also is it cheaper to buy the 1 year over 1 month etc etc.

HT means "Hors taxe" = "excluding tax"
TTC means "Toute taxe comprise" = "any included tax"

Technically, this is exactly what they had before lol. They don't want the money to go through their hands anymore.

Players -> Nostalrius -> Host

Now :
Players -> Host

the question is: what happens if nost decides to upgrade their hardware?
the old hardware is still paid for in that case

if you're asking me the old system definitely had a lot of upsides and transparency though important is not always necessary
