Beware of suspicious legacy servers

by Syrah » Wed May 18, 2016 6:38 pm

Dear community,

Since Nostalrius shut down, several legacy servers have been created, and continue to emerge. While some are aiming to provide the same experience that Nostalrius did, a memorable journey through Azeroth, others do not care about the community at all and are only attempting to make money as fast as possible.

Be aware that by providing your personal email, username or password, these people are creating databases they can later resell, compromising your personal data. With such databases, people with nefarious intents might then try to compromise more sensitive accounts, like those you might have on other legacy servers, or worse, your personal retail account. As a consequence, try to always use different email, username & password.

Another piece of advice is not to start on a new legacy server unless you can have some proof of what they have done, and do not provide any donations unless you have solid information on the project in question. Asking for a PTR prior to any time/money investment can be a good way to confirm that what is promised is indeed in line with the specification provided. Don't forget that in the end, as a community you have the power.

As a reminder, we do not endorse any other legacy servers.
Be very careful with any server project claiming otherwise or using the Nostalrius name.

Best regards,
Nostalrius.

Well before Nostalrius there was Feenix.
Not a big deal , create account and use different password.
If we want to enjoy Vanilla then we play Vanilla regardless of which server is.

I honestly miss Nostalrius, but since it is shut down there is no point to worry about.

All the effort done by the staff for our entertainment were real... you just miss a whole part of the Nostalrius project.
Show them (Nost team) the respect they deserve and forget your pitiful sarcasm.

The quality of ANNOUNCEMENTS dropped hard down quite as the quality of WoW Cataclysm those days and quality of Robbie Kotick from its birthday the same time!!

It appears that Kronos has endured Blizzard's DDoS-es and I'm quite eager and HAPPY of that fact!!

Legacy servers are TOO LATE, Blizzard!! And it is a PITY when you have announced letting the community got what it suffered of asking for a decade until it becomes like a dog getting to its favorite bone!!
The 3 realms for each of the "beloved expansions" that you planned are nothing but a point of empty interest! When people get all they have asked for so long they will find for themselves it is quite not encouraging and sensless to invest any substantial effort and time in creating anything on a late server with no future!

We have just seen a legacy servers of Lineage II Classic with a subscription for a strict minority, so thanks, you should surely move along too!

The only thing I can tell you is "thanks" that all those realms are planned to be payable for those pityful 5 bucks that is for me not to bother about and trouble with the awkward methods of payment!

Just FUCK up and realize that what you are just planning and announcing is a shit ALREADY!!

@wrw01200 Someone pressed your buttons! You must work for a 'suspicious legacy server' in Russia no doubt.
