Standardised RP post nomenclature

I think it'd be useful to agree on a set format of presenting one's backstory and character profile on the forums, rather than a motley mix of "Backstory!1" or "The Adventures of Gary Stu" or something. Similar to how guild recruitment posts display their realm etc in square brackets.

    [Faction] Character Name - class/race

Following the above as an example layout:

    [Horde] Mezza Tomwaithe - Rogue/Undead

Using that as a thread title, you can then start on the content.

I'd suggest for all those writing backstories for their characters, it's useful to first build a character sheet. When you meet people in-game they could, if desired, look you up in the forums and get to know your character (if they want to skip revelation via RP).

A Standard character sheet (based of the Santharian frame):

    Name
    Age
    Physical Appearance
    Backstory

Appearance doesn't have to be too distinct; you've got a character in-game for them to look at already. It's for painting a rough picture but also for adding quirks that aren't immediately visible within game. Again, your character sheet is a resource for you and others to look at. You can always refer to it during RP.

And a final note on those developing their backstory...no one likes a perfect character. What's worse, no one likes a stolen character. As Raktae said in the Snide Lore thread: the lazy grafting of your favourite anime or comic character into the WoW universe isn't appreciated. Put some effort into your player. Make them unique, make them breathe with their own air and speak with their own words. They aren't just what you want them to be. An RP Character should grow on its own. You're just there to give it life.
