Lvling spec?

I know that everyone says go for BM cause its fast and efficient. But, I was wondering if MM was a good spec to lvl aswell or would I be pulling a lot of aggro from my pet with the high amount of dmg im doing? Seeing as it is a overpopulated pvp server and I know there will be a lot of ganking going on.

I tried both leveling and found BM much better. I say it reluctantly too because I never liked BM.

beast mastery, no question.

1: to kill efficiently, you need to do ranged damage. To do ranged damage, you need your pet to tank the mob at least 8 yards away. BM pets will hold aggro up to 2x as well as other specs.

2: Pets do a flat amount of damage that does not scale with your gear, in vanilla. BM pets do roughly 2x as much damage. Until you are level 60 in at least good blues, doubling your pets damage is a much bigger increase in overall dps between you and your pet, than getting whatever damage bonus you could have from marks (and certainly surv, which is just totally underwhelming while you level).
