Hunter stats questions/discussion

by res » Sat Mar 12, 2016 11:29 am

I've recently levelled a hunter to 60 and looked around this forum to get an idea of how to compare items as a hunter, all I could find was BiS lists and some threads where stat weights are mentioned just in passing, this is what I've gathered so far and some questions I have:

What I've gathered from this forum so far :
(PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong)

1%CRIT
is valued at about 35RAP. (How was this calculated? I have no idea where this comes from)
1AGI is 2RAP.
52.91 AGI = 1%CRIT

With those numbers that makes
1AGI worth 2.6615RAP if you include the crit chance you get from AGI.

This makes 1%CRIT equivalent to about 13.15AGI (35/2.6615)

This is without Blessing of Kings and ZG buff

So That brings me to some questions:

A lot of people state that 2x Bone Slicing Hatchet is Pre-bis, but wouldn't they be slightly worse than a generic weapon (like assassination blade) that has 1%CRIT? Since 1%CRIT would be valued just slightly above the 13AGI from Bone Slicing Hatchet?

Is it because of BoK and the ZG buff?

How are BoK and ZG buff applied? x1.1 and then x1.15? I'm guessing this kicks in after lightning reflexes so that would be x1.15, x1.10, x1.15? Making 1 agility worth effectively 1.45475 Agility with all 3?
Do they all stack?

How do you calculate the worth of 1%CRIT? I've only seen it mentioned a few times and mostly very vague.

I hope you can help me answer some of these questions,
thanks

Bone Slicing Hatchet x 2:

26 Agi + 30 agi (enchant) = 56 Agi = 112 AP and 1.04% Crit

Assassination Blade:

30 agi (enchant) = 60 RAP and 2% crit

Think those are correct. I don't know where the crit = RAP calculation comes from, but afaik rule of thumb was to stack about 1/3 crit before it becomes a DPS loss.

% stat increasements are multiplicative in WoW, all hail the math gods. unless it is stacking in 1 spell buff, then it's additive + multiplied by the other buffs aswell though.
I prefer bone slicings myself, it's better overall.

So this is accurate then? (Changed 1%Crit to be valued at 30AP instead of 35AP since I found more people on the forum that used that number)

That makes each stats worth this amount of RAP:

That means Brutality Blade is better than Fang of the Faceless/Warblade of the Hakkari in raid (Red number being AP with BoK + ZG Buff, green without, both without lightning reflexes) for example:

That's correct, Brutality Blade is very slightly better than Hakkar weapons assuming you meet a certain gear threshold (full T1 or near full T2+) and have both Kings and ZG Buff.

Also Tarnished Elven Ring being slightly better than Don Julio's and Master Dragonslayer's Ring.

In regards to pure DPS, yes. But both the other rings have stam.

It is worth mentioning that as content progresses the mechanics "check" for one sided stats, with outgoing raid damage, forgoing stam for very tiny dps upgrades is not a good practice.

This is why mages / locks forgo bloodvine as soon as possible.
