Hi!

Is there any general ratio to determening regarding +healing vs int/spirit? For instanse im lvl 46 and had head piece with 14 int+13 spirit but replaced it with one that had +43 healing (about same armor). But im not sure if its wise? (I only heal )

Best regards

+Healing is worth much more than int/spirit. In your case, for healing, the +healing head is much better than the other one.

If you have enough +healing you can cast a lower rank spell for far less mana. With only 43 +heal you might notice a slight benefit over int/spirit but when you get to over 100 +heal and can cast a lower rank heal, you start to notice a HUGE difference.

For example, my Rank 2 Heal has a base healing of 429 to 492 but with my +700 healing it heals for 1029 to 1092. For only 205 mana.

Edit: In order to balance things a bit, you don't get the full amount of your +healing, instead it depends on the cast time of your spell. It is balanced so that you get the full amount of your +heal every 3.5 seconds. So if you use a heal that has a cast time of 3.5s you get the full bonus. If it's a cast time of 3.0s you get 3/3.5 (85.7%) of the bonus. Talents that reduce the cast time of your spells do NOT change the coefficient, so a spell with a base cast time of 3.0s reduced to 2.5 with talents will still receive 85% of your +healing bonus per cast.

Some people have calculated that for shorter fights (2-3 min), int is worth 2.3 times more than healing. And since almost every fight before BWL is under 3 minutes...yeah.

Don't know why people keep pushing this "healing is the absolute best stat, way better than int" thing, it's kinda wrong. If you ignore int and stack healing to downrank, you're just offsetting the inevitable lack of max mana to do the same amount of healing.

Based on those weights, the healing headpiece is almost identical to the Spirit + Intellect one in the OP.

While leveling: int is better for healing (fights are too short to take advantage of your low spirit), spirit synergizes amazingly for Shadow Grinding.

As you approach 60 and after you ding, MP5 becomes pretty great, along with Int. The thing about Spirit and +healing items is that their effects are multiplicative: until you start getting some quality level 54+ blues (Dire Maul, whenever it comes out, has amazing stuff) or raid gear, it's not as effective. Once you hit a certain threshold (and get 3 pc T2), spirit and +healing outstrip Int by far.

It's mana every 5 seconds, regardless of casting. Which is extremely misleading, because the regeneration gets added to regular regeneration ticks (unlike blessing of wisdom which really gives you 30 mana every 5 seconds). So for example an item with 10 mp5 will give you 4 mana every 2 seconds, no matter if you're casting or not.

This is MP5:

It's mana regen that happens no matter what you do.

Ana wrote:So for example an item with 10 mp5 will give you 4 mana every 2 seconds

4 mana every 2 seconds is still 10 mp5

2 seconds: 4 mana
4 seconds: 8 mana
(5 seconds: 10 mana)
6 seconds: 12 mana

It's not misleading at all, it's just not explicit about how it works together with the regular 2-second regen ticks.
