Thinking of rolling a warlock for raiding

Thinking of rolling a warlock for raiding

Does this mean I have to be SM/RUIN or DS/RUIN if I want to raid?

Because those are the dps specs. You can go MD/ruin as well but there's really no reason yet. If you're in a not very serious raiding guild then I guess you could do other specs like SL/SL or conflag, but if you want to do some good in a raid then go SM/ruin or DS/ruin.

Everything else is dogshit dps and you can just feel it.

Smruin is the best spec anyway, and there are 16 debuff slots which allows for some choice. Before it was ds ruin or dont raid at all.

DS/Ruin still outshines SM/Ruin on most boss fights and easy trash packs, it just provides less burst, utility, and PvP viability.

What do you classify as 'best spec'? if you are referring to PvE raiding, then you are wrong. DS/Ruin is the 'best spec', and has been since they took away DM/Sac/Ruin back in patch 1.4. If you are referring to the most all-around spec (mix of pve and pvp) then yes, SM/Ruin is the 'best spec'.

But lets not overlook the upcoming viable fringe dps specs with the release of AQ. If all of the mages are going fire, then some varient of NF/Conflag is a thing, but is very, very gear dependant (see: you need shit tons of crit).

A bunch of different stuff is enough to do acceptable dps.
However if you're aiming for guilds that care about speedrunning and that kind of challenges, you'll be forced to accept conventional builds.

Just curious is there actually a guild on the server that lets any of its members spec whatever they want for raiding?
