Same problem dude, can somebody help me out?

I have exactly the same problem. Everything was fine yesterday, but when i tried logging in today i just instantly get disconnected. Sometimes i can stay in for 1-3 seconds before disconnecting again.
Tried deleting WTF folder, changing realmlist, disabling addons and rebooting.

Any other things i can try?

Thanks in advance,

So I tried going on a test server right? Well as soon as I did it auto-disconnected me. And now every time i try to login it disconnects me before I can get to the character screen. And that ALSO means I can't change realms. Please help.

Try pressing Enter or Escape as soon as you login around the time you see the "Connecting...Success" message. This is suppose to cancel the realm connection and return you to the realm selection screen.

Came home can't play... I had 2 buddies stop playing and i live with one who is playing. I see that #6 talks about 3 accounts on IP. That at same time or overall? Cause I have my account, +Buddy who lives with me and 2 other accounts my friends stopped playing on. I've logged onto all this accounts before (never same time unless banking) did this lock me out of the game?

I want to point out that this connection problem is hitting a wide subset of the player base and its clearly a new problem introduced somehow serverside -- I just installed the game and played on the server last night and everything worked fine. I logged out but didnt close the client, and I couldnt log back in tonight. Ive uninstalled, reinstalled to a new directory out side of program files, done pretty much all of the "traditional" fixes for this problem and nothing changes the nature of it: I either cannot log into the server (ie, hangs on "Connecting") or it connects and hangs on "Authenticating".

I suspect that most of the people in this thread who are coming here with connection issues are experiencing the exact same problem. Therefore, something might be bugged on the server side somehow. This very well may be out of our hands!

I just got off work tried logging in for some reason I cannot log in. I have no idea why it starts to connect than goes too authenticating than disconnected. I tried following your instructions to fix and also it would not let me change the WTF config it kept telling me access denied.

Yeah I'm thinking the same thing. I actually did a fresh install of the official Nostalrius client and still can't log in. Obviously its not on my side. Something changed server side for so many people that were already playing to have the same issues. Hope it gets fixed soonish.

Snow240 wrote:Another thing to note for Windows users is that the Nostalrius Installer's default install location C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Classic will place some of its data in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft Classic which includes the Screenshots, WDB & WTF folder. Users that install to the root directory, another drive or their user folder should be unaffected by this.

The user has no rights to write in that location, that is the reason for the VirtualStore folder in a user location.
You can right click the "World of Warcraft Classic" select properties and give full rights to Everyone or your username on that folder.
Another way would be to run the executable as Administrator.
This should fix the problem.

My character Pyrophobic, every time I try to log in as him WoW quits unexpectedly. I'm playing on a Mac and I followed all the directions in the setup from the forum when installing. I played all day yesterday with no issues and when I was questing in Durotar today, it was like I walked into a bug and WoW crashed. Now every time I log in it crashes. Please help!
