I go to the bugtracker from time to time. Filter issues by "Resolved", and you get a quick reality check into this.

Considering the pop is like x2 that of normal, I'm not sure planting a BL seed in one more spot is going to make much of a difference.

It's not in a instance, it's the outside arena.

Unless you mean the wowhead comment about DME, in which case people need to search heavily for evidence which I don't think exists. There would be guides for it if it spawned there!

Best thing would be to increase spawn rates. Are they randomised?

I've been searching for quite a while now, including searches in different languages (german and chinese as those are the largest communities) and couldn't find evidence of a black lotus spawn in DM east.

However why would a comment from the correct patch be upvoted this much, include quite a bit of detail and even exist if it wasn't for real?

If there was a spawn in DM, this guy would have mentioned it. After all, hes beeing very specific about each node.
