Hello. I've been lurking around this forum for a long time, since the launch of Nos actually. I leveled to 30 something and didnt like alot of the bugs I noticed. Then I went to that other server that launched a month later and never looked back, im still there but that dont matter. However I have always wanted to play on a PVE server because I honestly cant stand the ganking when you're trying to quest in peace. So I noticed Nost was going to release a PVE server and decided to jump on this forum again to check up on things.
Seems Nost had done some amount of work made and when I logged back on it felt pretty stable - and charge was working now from what I saw during my play session (yay!). I went over to the bugtracker and it still shows this huuuuuge amount of class bugs that have yet to be fixed: Yes, I know every pvt server have alot on bugtrackers etc but when I changed to "Class" and "Resolved" that list have a chocking number of 29 measily fixes listed. This worries me alot because there are alot of bugreports that suggests most classes have somewhat serious issues still (more on that later).

I noticed that on the Nost launch trailer is says "Large Dev Team" at around 1min mark. But in the bugtracker all fixed class bugs were assigned to "Daemon (devdaemon)", and on the quests for example its mostly either Daemon or Sean. Maybe the team is huge but the rate at which these classbugs are being fixed is worrysome.

I usually am a person who cares mostly about attention to detail and stuff like quests working properly (with right events and gossips etc) and animations, spell effects that have correct visuals etc. But this is usually because devs are focusing so hard on core mechanics already such as classes and battlegrounds and raids working. But when I see so many class reports (187 new and 51 confirmed and 382 reports in total with that small 29 under fixed) I must ask if this is going to be addressed soon.

I understand that opening a second server and ZG on PTR are taking up most of the time for the devs right now but my hopes are they will also take a hard look into classes soon.

Here are some serious "new" bugs that has not gotten any attention yet:

"All AOE Spells Consuming a Debuff Slot" - Serious one with 8 slot debuff, horrendous bug, should get fixed ASAP!

As you all can see lots of these where submitted and Confirmed for months and months but still no fix...

There are many many others of course but this is what keeps me from whether to deciding to roll here or not, especially the debuff stacking. What do you guys think? Will these things continue to be left as is like on peenix for so many years or will they get fixed, and if so, when? After ZG? The patch notes that Viper put out in announcement section are not kinda far between and not that many, as the bugtracker also shows on its "fixed" list..

Hopefully we can get some attention on this and I can finally start playing here. Been craving a PVE server for so long and finally we get one with hopefully a decent population.

A lot of that stuff has been fixed, the tickets just haven't been closed. There's still a number of class bugs, but for the most part nothing gamebreaking and nothing that seriously affects class performance.

They fix bugs as and when, depending on how breaking they are. For most of September they spent their time trying to stabilise the server and discover what bug was breaking it related to Blackwing Lair. But if your desire is to see an absolute perfect, bugless server, then you're unlikely to find your happy place here. Bugs exist, bugs will come to exist with patches. It's an endless cycle of imperfection.

Glad to hear this! They should definitly try to update the bugtracker to show it imo. Hard for us that have not yet been part of server to know whats working and what isnt, other than looking at the tracker.
I do hear the paladins still have issues with Consecration and some other spells though, which hurts their dps alot since Consecration is a core ability even in non-AoE situations. (Yes yes I know "they cant dps" blah blah but this goes for all specs: most take Cons, and its not like pallies need bugs that are hurting their dps even more). And if Cons/RainofFire/Blizzard/etc are counted as a debuff in the 8-slot limit that is a very serious issue. This been fixed already?

I know, have been keeping close track of what happened during the BWL debacle. And I never asked for a bugless private server as those simply doesnt exist, but there are differences between projects where some work harder and more thoroughly to fix things than others. Knowing that they will indeed fix the more alarming ones is good to hear (unlike some other servers over the years).

Thanks! ^^ I will check the isvv out. Although im not yet fully commited to this server and still not sure whether I should dive in tomorrow. If I stick around I might apply to the team :)

When someone talk about bugs on core abilities :

Paladins are in fact most broken Class . It's not only that is broken but also set aside as non priority compare to other Classes .

Imagine if 2x Blizzard or 2x Flamestrikes doesn't work ? Same as our Consecration which is Number 1 AoE Spell.

Imagine if mages Ignite doesn't give any damage similar like our Sanctity Aura ?.

Imagine if Warriors melee swing doesn't get increase from Attack Power similar like we don't benefit to Seal of Command by Spell Damage?

Imagine if Heroic Strike doesn't sometime do any damage at all similar like our Judgement of Command that sometime doesn't do any damage (and no resist or whatsoever) ?


This is kinda annoying because we don't like peenix mainly for their not fixing our Class Bugs.
I hope Nostalrius take over bit more into Paladin Bugs since we are completely wiped out as Retri/Prot.

I'd say go play on "bug free" private servers alone.

We don't want or ask for bug free server . We just want Paladin Class Bugs to be treated equal like other Classes instead set aside . That's all .

In fact 2 consecration work as long as both pallies use the same rank and at no point of the duration there are more than 6 other debuffs. I tested this myself.

The judgement thing is a resist. It's just not shown in combat log sometimes. Other casting classes have this issue, too. Not sure though if it should be resistable and be treated as a meele strike.

Many other classes have bugs as well which influences their dps at least as much as sanctity aura does for pallies.

I'm not trying to bash against pallies as I play one myself, but I don't think pally bugs are treated any different than any other class. It's always a question of how much time needs to be invested to fix it. And if bugs are on the same level of importance I'd start with the quicker ones.

Problem is pallies juggle between different ranks alot because of mana issues and Cons is a core ability compared to say Rain of Fire or Blizzard which are used only on trash. Also AoE spells should not count as one of the precious 8 debuffs (link to report in OP), which hurts pallies dps even more. It should def get fixed asap along with other core classbugs.

Im probably not going to play a pally because of the classbugs alone. And it doesnt help our broken dps (which is already lower than the rest) when we got the god awful Judgement set changes that removed all strenght and litterly scream GO HEAL. This change will obviously come to the PVE server as well in due time after BWL is released. And non-holy players will have more rough times than ever until AQ.

Anyway. I didnt intend for this topic to turn into a paladin thread, there are already plenty of those in pally subforum. I just wanted to discuss classbugs overall as can be seen in the bugtracker and bring some attention to the it. Apparently some things have been fixed but the bugtracker not updated status, which is good news but causes confusing judging from it. And excusing things with "no private server is bugfree" or "go play on bugfree server" is lame, of course no pvt server is bugfree but we should always thrive for making things better, fix things that are broken, and aim to be as close to vanilla retail as possible, which is what Nostalrius claims they are trying to do.
