C.O.D Scammer

by Externia » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:13 am

Hello, I would like to warn people about someone practising the C.O.D Scamming, his name is Blizzaree.

He mailed me a "Blue ribboned wrapping paper" for 150Golds C.O.D.

With this post I also want to report him for violation of terms of use.

Thanks!

Yeah man, report him in game. A lot of this has been going on. Hopefully they all get IP banned. Some people sadly fall for it.

Im not sure how exactly this is a scam. There was nothing misleading about the mailed item. It clearly said that it was wrapping paper, and clearly said it was a C.O.D.
Is it a douche move to try to get people to give you 150g for wrapping paper? Yes.
Is it your own fault if you accept a clearly marked C.O.D. item for a clearly marked price? Yes.

terms of use still prohibit it:
Participate in any action that, in the sole and absolute discretion of Nostalrius staff, results or may result in a player being "scammed" or defrauded out of currency or any other items the user has earned.

Yeah, I understand that it's a crappy thing to do. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they did get banned for it. I just don't see where it can be labeled as an actual scam anymore than placing a single item in the AH for the price of a stack. If someone is dumb enough to fall for it, what do you do?
