I would like to start playing but I would like to know if Nostalrius is the newest wow vanilla server or are there some newer ones? Basically, this server is 10 months old so I wonder if I'm too late to join in?

Well the PVE server launched just this October. A lot of players have not reached max level yet. It's never too late to join.

It's not too late to join the PvP server either. We'll be waiting for AQ for like half a year now, plenty of time to catch up :^)
