Where are they now? Nostalrius set in stone.

First of all, let's give a big round of applause and gratitude to Daemon, Viper, and the rest of the Nostalrius team (not including Elysium WoW). Without Nostalrius and massive efforts made to push this into the forefront of gaming news we would never have got this far.

So, Blizzard has announced the launch of official Classic Servers at Blizzcon and now there is a push for the First Realm to be named Nostalrius. In my opinion, I believe this would be an excellent acknowledgment of the great efforts made to meet the demands of our Vanilla Community in what looked like its final hours.

In amongst all this, I'm sure the majority of Nostalrius Refugees would like to hear from Nostalrius Admin now.

How can we reach out to them?
How can thank them enough?

Let's figure this out.
Happy gaming Guys/girls.

Maybe I'm the only one that has noticed since I still check these forums as much as I did before the project shut down, but they are still lurkers on the forums. Most of the staff before the switch is in fact.

Would not be surprised if they made a major announcement after blizzcon on this site

Also,
Has Blizzard maintained a relationship with the people behind the unofficial legacy servers? I know the Nostalrius guys visited Blizzard at one point.

J. Allen Brack: We've talked to Daemon and Viper, the leads for that project, a handful of times since that visit.

Do you see them being more heavily involved in WOW Classic?

J. Allen Brack: We would welcome their involvement, for sure. I think one of the challenges is that they're both French and so there's a little bit of a visa concern, but we'd be open to it. They're very passionate and strong Blizzard fans, clearly.

They are french. We could offer them some good cheeses and wine.

I Hope that since Blizzard is still in the works of hiring a separate WoW team just to work on the Classic realm, That Daemon and Viper go for applying to those positions on the project!

I think its very naive to think they haven't hired anyone yet. They had job postings for remastered War3 and D2 this past summer. They already remastered SC. They probably already have a core team for all of these "retro" throw backs.

Maybe it just isn't a fully fleshed out team yet, but I'm sure something is at least established.
