Getting Started on TBC

Dear Community,

This is an official guide on connecting and starting on our Burning Crusade Public Test Realm. Please take note that since this is a Test Realm we would appreciate every tester to sign up on our Bug Tracker and please report any issues that you find.

You will find the Bug Tracker topic here:

https://forum.nostalrius.org/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=37074

You will find the GITHUB source here:

https://github.com/NostalriusTBC/

Now onto getting started; The Burning Crusade server is a test server; therefor, all character data will eventually be deleted. There will be no transfers from the PTR to the live server when it releases.

Step One:
Sign up and make your account for the PTR here:
http://tbc.nostalrius.org/

At the bottom of the page there is an account creation section, simply put in a username and a password then hit "Register my account".
We have also included links to the bug tracker and github at the bottom.

Step Two:
Download the client.
TBC Client

Click the link and simply install the client. You will need a program like WinRAR to extract the file once downloaded.

Step Three:
After you extract the .rar file you will need to find the Realmlist (it will be a .WTF file). Open it with a text edit program, for example, notepad. Change the realmlist to say:

set realmlist 178.33.122.86:3725

Step Four:
Launch the WoW client and login with your credentials.

Once you are in the game you can create your character and go to a main city to get level 60 and starting gear.
There is also an NPC added to teleport your character to The Black Portal. The Draenei and Blood Elf zones will not have an NPC to teleport players as those zones need to be tested as well.

Sincerely,
Nostalrius Begins Staff
