While there is a lot of drama in the paladin forums about if Paladins can/can't DPS
I went ahead and looked at the CURRENT raid stats for Nost and was shocked to see it!

So in your personal opinions, do you think the same classes will hold these charts (maybe not the players) or is this going to change when 8 debuff limit moves to 16?
What do you think the top Vanilla DPS class was/is?

Most of those numbers are irrelevant, due to nature people are getting them - abusing adds, taking unnecessary damage for rage, fight length vs cooldown stacking, etc. All it does it let you kill farm boss slightly faster.

The top burst DPS is warlock.
The top sustained DPS is fury warrior.

At least, those are the picks with AQ40+ gear.

The distinction generally doesn't matter, usually it's a toss-up between the two depending on how melee or ranged friendly a fight is. But occasionally you'll run into an fight where a warlock's DPS drops from 1300 to 1100 because they had to lifetap 9 times instead of 3.

Fury, rogue, warlock and (fire) mage all have their fortès.
Overall though, on farm content across all instances, I'd say fury has the highest potential.
Take note that there are alot more dedicated rogues than tryhard furies, so it will skew a statistics site like raidstats in favor of rogues.

For PVP, I'm not so sure. My warlock on feenix can do 11,000-14,000 damage in three seconds in a battleground. I know ret paladins can 1-shot me, but I'm pretty sure 11-14k in two globals isn't going to be beaten.

Hes not exaggerating, reck bombs will level anything wearing cloth or leather.

But that describes most classes once they've got BIS gear.
