I really hope they get this thing right...otherwise we will see rogues/hunters running around in +SpellPower gear (yay, melee hunters spamming Wing Clip Rank1)

I think this was already discussed on these forums somewhere....

The general rule is that such items won't scale, because they didn't scale on retail, especially "on hit" effect.
Some specific items or on-use items might be scripted to scale, but don't expect the staff to do so without having found trustworthy evidences beforehand :).

Another topic where this was discussed : viewtopic.php?f=6&t=529

The evidence if any is small and far few and between..

But seriously Few niche items that with some spellpower items + buffs will allow physical damage dealers to do things unintended?

That's exactly the opposite of Blizzlike. Things like that HAVE come up before are instantly nerfed. So just from that fact alone--I don't think Nost Staff would allow it.

Except if it's absolutely sure that it was working this way on retail, then Nostalrius staff will probably make the things like they used to be, even if it's not in the Blizzard "spirit". But without proof, of course they'll probably leave things as they're "supposed" to be, i.e. no proof = no sp scaling for melee items.

Well its either that or instant attack scaling in most cases. So, 1.5/3.5 = 42.8% and I guess we all can agree 42.8 is too excessive.

It should work just fine with Six Demon Bags at least.
The SP scaling on that wasn't removed until much later after Vanilla iirc.

I hope it scales. It makes for fun builds tbh. Elemental Shamans in PvP are a lot of fun with it.
