Your pet will run to attack a target even if it is LoS, even if the target stealths and the player no longer has a target the pet will still follow the target and attempt to break the stealth, assuming you didn't input any other commands for your pet. This is also how it was in vanilla.

IF your target vanishes your pet will 'lose scent' and not be able to follow the target and will return to it's previous state (ie following you)

Are you sure about pets going for stealthed targets? I always assumed it was a bug on Emerald Dream because of how ridiculous it is.

I highly doubt about it too.

There's no reason a pet could attack an stealthed ennemy.
it only works this way if the ennemy is marked by the hunter or if you "noticed" the enemy before sending your pet on it.

If in the meanwhile your pet's target move into stealthed mode, your pet loose the target and come back at your position.

I don't know about LoS targetting / pet-sending, but a pet is supposed to find a stealthed rogue / druid / NE if it was sent by its owner before the target stealthed. It was debated countless times during Beta, and a 2006 video was found and settled everything once and for all.

I, too, am sure.
It was one of the funniest things to read back then on the forums... all those rogues so angry because they couldn't do a thing against those hunters, especially because of that very reason. Anyone that played back then know how mad they were.

And everyone that didn't play rogue was taunting them with such intensity ! Good old days.
