Hey man, I just think it's a shame that people are being deceived this way when they're obviously making custom content for the server which has no place in the 1.12.1 patch -at all-.

How are you even trying to defend that? What a joke.

You are the joke

Really.

This fix doesn't change anything to the blizzlike experience, you must have some grief against Nostalrius to do a so stupid topic.

If you are that picky against "custom content" I encourage you to go on other's private server's forum to discuss about how it is not blizzlike to have donations gear, character auctions, 10g respec, etc, etc

Aquane wrote:well, really, one could argue that blizzlike means like retail, but not necessarily exactly the same as retail

if it was exactly equal to retail it'd probably be called something else

really, I think this change is nice, and wouldnt drive anyone away

thats what matters

they're trying to stay true to blizzard's ideologies and content and difficulty and whatnot; if they fix their bugs its still blizzlike, though just not regarding the bugs

So, where does it end? What is too much? You can't say, because it's a personal opinion.

People who sanction the alteration of the 1.12.1 patch and still feel they have to right to call it a "Blizzlike 1.12.1 server" (whatever that means anymore) are being biased towards their own personal preferences, which is completely unethical when you discuss the integrity of the patch.

Either you make a 1.12.1 server, or you don't. It really is that simple.

There's no "alteration" you can talk about, because it is not even the real "wow"
the private servers are using an emulation, y'know...

it has been altered since it started to exists.

Condescending me doesn't change the fact that Nostalrius quite obviously is creating custom content.

The topic of this thread is just an example we know of - what other things could they have altered to their own preference? No one knows, but odds are that this is not a single occurance. If they are brazen enough to manifacture spell functionality out of thin air, who knows what they're capable of making up?

1.12.1 for sure.

I can told you that the day we'll be back to the power, (and it will be sooner than what you may think), you'll be one of the first to earn 10y in the new gulags we'll build under the sea.

I don't quite understand the hostility in here. He pointed out something that isn't Classic, yet is being done on Nostalrius. All you needed to do, if anything, was point out that the server isn't going to be a 100% recreation, which no private server possibly could be for a number of reasons. A lot of what's been said in here doesn't do the community or the server any favors. There's nothing wrong with pointing out something that's not right or asking the staff why they decided to go with a non Classic functionality, which is against their overall goal and design for the server. I think what concerns players like Randomuser more than the simple non consequential thing he's bringing up is establishing a negative precedence. When you start making exceptions, how many is acceptable?
