Inner Focus was dispellable during the Pvp session, at least with the Dispel Magic of Priest and Arcane shot from Hunter, normally you can't dispell this effect.

I don't find any proof of this for the moment (spell deleted on retail so cannot be found on wowhead), i just remember it's work correctly during the beta of Nostalrius.

whatever that link is, is wrong.
inner focus does not require lvl 36. it is a talent in the disc tree, available at lvl 20 as the 11th point spent in the tree. you also dont become immune to silence, interrupt and dispel effects. pleae don't base your info on that link.

it reduces the mana cost of your next spell by 100% and caused your next spell to have a 25% increased crit chance (if the spell can crit.) the CD is also at 3mins, same as devouring plague; which made those 2 a deadly combo.

This skill have a lot of change with the game, I know a lot of mechanics change but seems "Dispel type Magic" was since the beggining, nothing about this in the patch notes ( http://www.wowwiki.com/Inner_Focus ).

I think the only solution we have, to be sure, is to find a video who a priest is dispelled with Inner focus active, but it's a really big job...

All the Priest buffs or debuffs should be Magic except for a select few. Subtypes can be found on Gamepedia. The other information is no longer accurate, but subtypes for abilities generally didn't change over the years. Examples:
Martyrdom, Magic: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Martyrdom
Touch of Weakness, (Buff) Magic, (Debuff), Curse: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Touch_of_Weakness
Inner Focus, Magic: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Inner_Focus
Devouring Plague, Disease: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Devouring_Plague
Power Infusion, Magic: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Power_Infusion
Vampiric Embrace, Curse: http://wow.gamepedia.com/Vampiric_Embrace
This one isn't shown in the box because it was changed to a buff in later years, however it's noted as previously being a Curse when it was offensive, which is how I remember it too. Basically, on this site, you can look up subtypes for things. Shadowform is one of the few that is not only NOT Magic, but has no subtype at all, and thus can't be removed. This was to prevent players from being able to forcibly remove your form. This one, unlike the others, should not be affected by Purge.

For the actual tooltips, minus subtypes, talent calculators are still accurate.

Inner Focus, 3min CD, -100 cost, +25 crit. It doesn't list a duration because the ability didn't have one. It would sit indefinitely until you used it... or it got dispelled, lol, which is why you "didn't" want to do that. If you sat around with the buff up in BGs like a dope, you were just inviting a Shaman to run up to you and Purge spam it off.

The solution was to not cast it until you wanted to actually use it. It had no GCD, so you could piggyback it right on top of a normal cast and consume it almost immediately. Limit the time the buff is shown, and you prevent enemies from ever having time to remove it. IF->MB is 1.5sec, barely any time for a player to react for a Purge. You could just try to protect the cast by disabling an enemy first. Scream/Silence->IF->MB. If they can't cast, then they can't very well dispel you. Even if they trinket a CC(ie Scream), they'd still have to be VERY fast to react in time to stop these kind of combos, which is unlikely. Most of the time, combos like this would get your casts off.
