Who gives a shit, actually though?

Kronos was taken down last time because of low population issues.

It's barely able to manage 3-400 people on US times, and just over 1k on EU times one-two months post launch.

Just watched the Kronos review. He's pretty biased towards it and it shows.
I played on both servers at launch and Kronos had terrible disconnecting issues in the first month, more than Nost ever had.
There's no mention of it in the review, which makes sense since those issues were solved. Yet in the Nost review he complained at length about the disconnecting issues, at a time when they all had been solved as well.

He doesn't mention the ability to pay real money for level 60 characters or opposite faction mounts as well. You'd think a person choosing a server would want to know about that.

Well this turned out to be a fun thread. How do you measure the quality and health of a server project? Hardly something you want to do on a short term basis, and if you wish to go that route (short term) the best bet is to make a thorough examination of how the devs/gms of server X behaves and acts according to their previous statements.

As always when it comes to these projects what lacks the most is usually an open ended communication between the develoopers, gamemasters and finally the end user in terms of the player. In a perfect world the player will know when there has been a delay in the release of new content, to when the "deadline" is pushed, and why the delay occured. Often the end user gets a hint on that a delay has occured, without any information regarding when the new deadline is set - or why the delay occured.

Getting informed regarding why a certain delay in the content release occured will undoubtedly make the end user more comfortable with the service provider, granted that the reasoning given isn't contradicting previous statements (e.g. All content ready for release, No pay to win). For these two projects we'll just haft to wait a couple of months and see how their respective teams both act, release content, and stay true to their promises. Because as we all know from previous projects: promises are easy to make and yet hard to uphold.

On topic:
It really doesn't matter in the case of dodgy recieving a level 60 char to test out the endgame content when conducting a review for a server project. I'm certain that Nostalrius had the same opportunity to provide him with a character for the same purpose when conducting his review - but they decided not to. This is afterall a server review he is conducting which basicly is/will become free publicity, the only decision that has to be made by the server recieving this is whether or not they wish to be able to showcase their endgame content. Seeing how the npc's were talking in french, with some events bugged on server release and a while after I'd say it was wise of the Nostalrius staff to decide not to showcase that specific type of content at that point in time.

A few examples on top of my mind: Postmaster event, Rend, Maraudon & the scarlet cannonball, BRD slaves + arena event (yells).

Why am I not surprised people on this forum get their knickers in a twist because of that review...

But sure, the only reason Kronos gave him that lvl 60 priest was just to bribe him. I mean why would they do it so he could experience the lvl 60 content and get an idea what that's like?

Let's also ignore the fact that his Nost review was damn positive as well. Nah, the mere facts that he got a free test character and that the review was better than Nos', are PROOF that dodgy was bribed. I'm sure they paid him thousands, if not millions to do that review! How else can you explain it?

Seriously though, if somebody were to review both of these servers and come to the conclusion that Nost is a higher quality server, I wouldn't trust that person one bit. And no, Kronos didn't pay me to say that, and no, I didn't say Nost sucks. They're both great servers, Kronos is just the one with better quality, and all you have to do is play there to see it.
