Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

So back on topic.

I currently play on Elysium. I am doing this for a variety of reasons. While I haven't gone too far through content I am finding the players/mods/scripting to be on par with what I experienced in Nostalrius, other than population.

So if you're looking for a current vanilla server to play on, I recommend it.

The server is going towrds disaster for many reasons. Look at their bug tracker. There are so many pathing and overall scripting bugs, all present on stock mangos as well of course, since thats where they started at launch. They are obviously working very hard at updating and fixing things as fast as possible. But the state the server was in at release makes you wonder why in the world they released it in the first place and didnt fix all these core issues BEFORE launch. Now these stuff has all been lingering since then, and alot has been fixed, but the focus can only be on so much at once, everythign else gets put on lower priority list, which leaves it with thousands of "smaller issues" that arent dealt with.
These are just facts. They are working hard to fix things, but as I said, their very odd launch with all those issues all over the place, its no wonder the population is dropping. And comparing them to Nost and saying it isnt that bad actually says alot more about Nost than Elysium. Its rather hilarious and goes to show just how much the population on Nost sort of concealed all its flaws. People ignored it because it was SO popular.

The staff of Elysium seems like great people though, I read most of their updates and they seem to really care, they arent in this for the money of anything like that, just genuine fans of warcraft, which is great! Its just not enough when it comes to actual server quality. (Again, population dropping speaks for itself)

If this server has any chance of taking off I'll make a great bug report with undisputable proof showing that holy resistance does in fact exist in the game.

Yeah it's interesting to see if Nostelysium rumours are true. People are voting with their feet now as the population is currently over 600. Let's see what happens over the next few days.

Back to Elysium. Im wondering what big plans they got after blizzcon. I've noticed all the buzz already started about a possible merger of servers and whatnot. Both are using mangos and also had some people go from one to the other I guess its possible. But then again Elusium has that Trinity thing going. Again I find it pretty amusing that they decided to launch with stockmangos, invest a huge amount of work in fixing that up (post-launch), only to consider changing core a few months later? The reaons they launched with a server like that to begin with is becoming even more mindboggling.
