Resources for those things have to come from somewhere. When it's just random fans/people looking for an opportunity who are behind projects like this, you're obviously going to face the issue of people immorally abusing certain privileges to either generate cash that is vital for the continuation of the project, or is merely a grab for money when the opportunity presents itself.
Fundraising for the project wouldn't be a problem. This project is much bigger than Scapegaming was. Scapegaming, a WoW emulator project with 427,000 users, had hoarded over $3 million in a PayPal account (https://www.geek.com/games/blizzard-win ... s-1277800/). Elysium had over 1,030,000 users as of 1st of July 2017 (https://i.imgur.com/AaoKPxV.jpg).

I mean ideally you'd have an entire staff of people who are fine just working on a passion project, but hoping for a perfect world scenario isn't a very legitimate practice.
Exactly. Shenna and Whitekidney even justify Shenna leeching money off the PayPal account people have been donating to. Crogge justifies his actions of selling gold to goldsellers and creating high rank characters, etc. They want compensation in cash for working on the project. Would we really have a trustworthy, transparent leadership with Pottu's new project, Light's Hope? Take into consideration that he's been involved in deceiving the player base by concealing the fact that Shenna never abandoned the project. Back in March he was also moderating and deleting my posts over at the Elysium forums when I questioned them about donations. Red flag if you ask me.

Hey Pottu , what will happen with Killerduki and Theloras ? :)

What's the guarantee Elysium or Crogge will not scam us all , he have all access to our info and characters

A lot of work and resources has to go into a project like this. The gms and developers should receive some form of compensation, I for one don't have a problem consistently donating money to the project. I think the project should make it a goal to make us, the players, aware of any shortfalls and let us raise the money. I just started playing again a month or two ago and I am having a blast, I love the experience of Vanilla wow and want to contribute to its' success.

Make a monthly goal, post all actual donations received on the website or even as the initial in-game message when we log in, (month to date, year to date) ect.. Post goals and targets. Leave it up to the community to raise the money, need more disk space, memory, server resources? Let's raise the money.

I am a SQL Server developer and I'm sure we have tons of other players who are developers and programmers as well. I would consider assisting from time to time to help keep things running. I'm not as smart as most but would be glad to try and help this project.

Thanks for the transparency, thanks for trying to clear things up, no one should have to work 12 hours a day monitoring servers and resources for free. Some compensation should be expected, but it should be done the right way, selling gold and duplicating characters is not the right way. :)

Toasting in legendary bread

This is an amazing move. It's the best outcome possible considering the awful circumstances Crogge and Shenna created.
