Potential Eviscerate bug

Potential Eviscerate bug

by trave » Fri Mar 27, 2015 3:17 pm

I have been observing very low eviscerate damage for several levels now and decided to look into this further. At rank 6, a five point eviscerate should be dealing 407-451 damage, and should scale with attack power: http://db.vanillagaming.org/?spell=8624.

I have never, ever, landed a non-crit eviscerate over 280. I see damage anywhere from 220-270, regardless of what type of mob/player I'm attacking.

Has anyone else noticed this issue? Here's what a five point eviscerate looks like against a dunemaul ogre 1 level below me: http://imgur.com/QIpiImt.

Confirming my own suspicions. There is a damage problem somewhere in the game, although I do not know if it's with player damage or mob settings. I had not tried attacking elementals recently so decided to go test on them. I have literally double damage against elementals (correct damage). 5 point eviscerates hit for 470, Sinister Strike hits for 180 (barely hits for 100 against other mobs) and even my autoattack damage is higher.

Elementals usually have very low armor.
I also encountered a few mobs (not necessarily elementals) who appear to have 0 armor (this is probably a bug, I reported those mobs).
Always check your target's approximative armor with a Gouge / Kick.

I have no problem with my Eviscerate. I'm 3/3 & 3/3 Agressivity & Imp. Eviscerate. My Eviscerate hits harder than advertised in the tooltip despite the enemy having the correct amount of armor when I'm under BoM & Battle Shout for instance, making me think the AP scaling is fine.
Even without AP scaling, well I always have coherent numbers (base damage - armor reduction).

Compare the damage in the first fight to the second.

Dunno about the armor values of the mobs in the video, but indeed it seems they are quite different from each other.

Just do the same footage but use gouge / kick at some point in the fight (and show the rank used). If they hit for the same amount of damage but Evisc doesn't, there would be an issue yeah. But for now as said above all I see is different damage being done to mobs having different armor, nothing more :/.

I've grinded multiple levels in this spot and the lighter coloured ones are some of the squishiest mobs in the game, you can literally SS SS evisc and kill them at 50ish, whereas the darker coloured ones which he fights first are like fighting earth elementals, it's just armour I'm pretty sure

Mobs have vastly diffrent armor in vanilla, Since Evis is physical high armored targets such as rock elementals and non caster mobs.

it deals signifigantly less damage, they can have same hp, but they can effectivly have 35% more EHP than other mobs.

For instance the casters in azhara dies in 1 seconds due to their really low armor.

this is also one of the reasons why casters are op as hell to farm with in vanilla, becuse they never compensated magic resist to mobs.

The same way physical damage got treated :D

happy hunting.

I got a 1.7k Evis crit (rank 8) yesterday while doing LBRS. Seems fine.

They gotta buff eviscerate! 1.5k isn't nearly enough ... we gotta be able to kill warriors like everybody else!
