I cannot access my pet talent tree or pet skills

I see my pet's talent points fluctuate as it levels but I have no way to access the pet talent tree. Also, when I access the pet tab in my spell book all I can see is the skills that the pet came with (dash and claw I believe in this case). Ive trained growl and its nowhere to be found. Also I just trained 3 levels of stamina with the pet trainer and pet health was left unchanged. Help?
