Hunter talent choice? what to take

Ranged Weapon Specialization (Increases damage you deal with ranged weapons by 5%) vs

Humanoid Slaying( assuming that even works, Increases damage against humanoid targets by 3% and critical damage by 3%)

if im reading this correct both are the same thing except humanoid slaying also adds 3% critical damage? Or is weapon damage superior?

Whats the rest of your build?
ideally for mm pve you get both talents + dragonslaying

Pvp is totally different:-)
I use the above spec and do fine with it.
I dont hit that hard with shots like pure mm or sv hunters
But i survive longer and can counter more.

Get broken tooth from badlands with 1.00 attackspeed
and see for yourself!

if they cc your pet - mend pet rank 1
Pet stun and scattershot if used correctly give you 2 aimed shots
Improved concussive stun gives u another aimed shot.

Since hunter pvp is a lot about movement and positioning having 2 cc come in handy
+ your pet is quite deadly too, but mainly used for interrupts.

Fun is always them mages coming to you nova dedzone.
mend pet- intimidation= 80% Mage blink away
---> Turn arround multishot his ass - concussive shot right after
When they reach your deadzone again nova faded!

u go a bit range
Scatter - aimed shot mage ded

you just can't live with bm in pvp because every melee will shit on you without deterrence/imp. wc/counterattack/entrapment/imp. parry. also +20% crit chance on raptor strike (with 2h weapon ofc) is good burst vs. mages blinking to you

appreciate all the responses but like I have a peeler, net o matic, badlands speed watch and a healer that can hand of freedom me so the ppl wanted me to go full glass

this is the closest I could find regarind ranged weapon specialization vs Humanoid Slaying


This is Auto Shot: SlayingMod*(AmmoDPS*WeaponSpeed+RWSMod*(RAP/14*WeaponSpeed+Scope+AverageWeaponDamage))

This is Aimed Shot: SlayingMod*(AmmoDPS*WeaponSpeed+RWSMod*(RAP/14*2.8+Scope+AverageWeaponDamage+AimedShotBonus))

And this is Multi-Shot: BarrageMod*GSMod*SlayingMod*(AmmoDPS*WeaponSpeed+RWSMod*(RAP/14*2.8+Scope+AverageWeaponDamage+MultiShotBonus))

This is what you replace the jargon with:

AimedShotBonus = 600
MultiShotBonus = 150
MortalShotsMod = 0.30
SlayingMod = 1.03 if Slaying Talent, 1 if not
RWSMod = 1.05 if MM spec, 1 if LR spec
BarrageMod = 1.15 if MM spec, 1 if LR spec
GSMod = 1.15 if 8/8 Giantstalker bonus, 1 if not

but he is talking about giantstalker sets ..I have like...crap gear. So RWSmod is 1.05 increase? and that is 1.03 increase??
