Imp Counterspell or not?

Most frost pvp builds use Imp Counterspell. This provides 4sec complete silence to casters. Against other mages this a must. But against healers, spriest and warlocks the untalent counterspell provides 10sec lock to that school of magic.

I see many frost mages those days using untalent Counterspell. They can simply have pve build but makes wonder if Imp Counterspell really worth for pvp.

Duno why u tend to see so many mages without it, but improved CS is invaluable in a pvp oriented enviroment

It doesn't matter if you talent into it or not, you still interrupt the school for 10 seconds. Improved silence is amazing.

If Imp Counterspell still interrupts the school for 10 sec yes, it is amazing. Thanks

You can live without Imp CS but people who know how to bait (or worse, use Dartol's rod) will destroy you. Guaranteed 4 second silence no matter if you hit or miss makes life much easier.

what are they using dartol's rod for in that case? and decent castbar addon will still show spells

If there is a castbar that always shows everything accurately from any range, I would like to know of it. I use Natur and it becomes random if the enemy is further away than 20 yards.
Besides, the psychological trick of "omg he's casting white spell STAHP HEEM" making you CS on reflex is pretty strong :P Seen it happen plenty of times.
