How to connect (finally worked for me after 4 1/2 hours)

Where are you finding this 'Test server xxx'? All I'm seeing is a long line of code with the realmlist stuff at the end.

I can't remember the exact term - it was something like "Test server 1sVV".
Just look up your config file and make sure "set realmname" is set to "Nostalrius Begins".

Didn't work. No surprise there. TC You got lucky. The change you made played no role in getting you connected.

I updated my instructions to make them more clear - maybe try again?

They were clear enough the first time. What worked for you just didn't work for me. What DID work for me was to use a password that was no more than 16 characters long. I had a password that was 21 characters, and didn't realize it was getting cut off in the login screen of the game. When I created a new account after realizing this (1st time after realizing this, 5th new account in total), I used a 15 character password, and had NO trouble getting in at all. Created a character and logged right in.

Hmm I can't find the "config.wtf" file.. I downloaded the torrent from VanillaGaming given in the installation guide on this forum.

Hello, I've deleted my WDB folder and set my realmlist and realmname but it still disconnects me before I get any other message. I've even reinstalled WoW mulitple times but it does the same thing with each reinstall. Any ideas on what I have to do to fix this? THnx
