Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

Hi, i just logged on to mail from a "nostalrius support" and i didnt notice that it was C.O.D. and it took 10g from me..... is there any way to find out who it was? or if theres anything i can do?

Nostalrius recently changed their terms of service and COD scammers are now banned. Additionally, those who scammed in the past were banned as well. Unfortunately, you accepted the transaction and your gold will most likely not be recovered.

I am not a part of the Nostalrius staff, but I have knowledge of what happened with all the past cases.

If you want the individual to be banned, you will need to post a screenshot of the COD/message.

unfortunately i dont have a screen of the cod, but i do still have the letter from him in my inventory (his name is Refunds)

The acc with the character 'Refunds' was banned on the first wave ban.

I've sanctioned more accounts since then. These involved the names "Staffmember" and "Auctionhouse", both of which were blatantly lying in CoD scam mails. If you open mail from these names; their respective accounts have already been targeted.

If you click a COD mail, it's your own fault and you deserve to lose your gold. You have now learned a lesson, so don't do it again.

Praestein, when you reply on a post, you're so harsh. I played for 8 years retail wow, I ain't no scrub, ain't gonna review my WoW timeline. I was fooled by this mail and anyone, even the best could've. You don't "deserve" to lose it.
Like Yahoozy, I still have the mail in my backpack. And being level 34 warrior, awaiting level 40 to finally move around faster, the 5 Gold lost was a bit of a hurtful event.

Even though I consider these scammers the scum of the earth I must say I am somewhat shocked by the fact that people actually fall for it.

Really, all it takes is to read the part where it says "accepting this mail will -cost- you...".
So I must conclude that a combination of greed and stupidity leads to people being scammed by this evil scum.

I doesn't happen a lot, but I must agree with Praeisten here (even though I miss a condemnation of the filthy actions of the scammers. Just because people are greedy and stupid enough to fall for it does not make the scamming right by any means).
But indeed, the scammed people should consider this a very valuable lesson. Be happy that you got to learn it in a computer game and not in the real world. When people you don't know offer you free stuff all alarm systems in your head must go off and you must be extremely cautious.
