Honor and Wild PvP

Hi guys,

I want to ask this simple general question : does honor gained in Wild PvP scale all right with gaining ranks to gain access to rank-bonuses ?

I'm asking this because I love Wild PvP, play wow/mmo pretty much for it, and I am not interested at all in battlegrounds. I've done a few back in the day, I understand people like them but it's not for me, I like the interactions that happen in the wild with the unpredictability of situations, encounters, and low player counts in fights feel more interesting to me. It lets me PvP in a more role playing fashion, I guess, and make use of all my abilities. That's what I find fun. So I'm wondering if there is any way for me to gain access to higher PvP ranks like rank 10 or so after I hit lvl60 doing only wild PvP.

If not that's no big deal cause I don't really need the pvp gear but I'm just curious about that, if there are some goal incentives in the game associated with Wild PVP or not :]

Yes, hitting rank 10 with only world pvp would not be a challenge. Depending on what class you chose ofc. You will need one that wont have problem to finish of ppl in 1 vs 1 etc.

I usually fly to winterspring/felwood between BGs and then if lucky I have time to kill 4-5 ally before the que pops. Usually they give 100-250 honor depending on their own rank. Even green low lvl ppl like lvl 51-59 gives good honor. Kill them as well.

Altho if you only want to do world pvp ppl will probably get tired of you after a while. Getting ganked 24/7 while doing quests etc is somewhat tiresome. And the chance they will get other friends coming to gank you instead will be high.

The answer to your question is no. You would have to world PvP for a few hours to gain as much Honor as you get from winning 1 WSG match in 5-10 minutes. If you want to rank up you will need to play BG's.

r10 from world PvP is probably possible, but it would take a very very VERY long time, and you definitely couldn't get any higher than that.

Hey thx for your answer good input. I am Druid!

Personally I never attack a green. First because it's no fun and I learn nothing (autowin), second because I don't like it when someone does it to me (unfair & waste of time) so I don't do it to others. I view this as a general flaw of the game. So if I'm level 60 I would only attack lvl 58+. Also I often avoid ganking in situations where my opponent has no chance to win, it is too easy to do as Druid like for Rogue with invisibility. But I may do it to someone if they do something shitty enough to me before^^

I don't need to get the ranks fast because for me it is really fun to do this stuff, I only need a chance to get it over time on a reasonable time. Well if I believe Ohhgee I guess it would take too long. Screw the objectives then I will probably just buy gear :] But, that gives me more choice in gear too and I like that. I think it is better for me not to care about ranks. Fine !

You will probably get rank 5 if you don't want to kill greenies.

Yeah that will be all right. The trinket is all I need. I kinda like the "knight" title but whatever, I'm in it for the hunts and events :]

hoping I can rival with fat-geared guys from PVE or high PvP ranks with my auction-house-bought gear at lvl60 but from the numbers I've seen I think yes it should be more a matter of getting into the good situations and playing well (and making good money to buy good gear^^)

that mentality is why 90% of ally pugs lose to horde pugs.

^ THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE!

Just ball hard and kill anyone in your path who is worthy enough to die, let the gray-levels live until they've matured but show no mercy to green-levels, if you do, you will eventually be missing out on a lot of honor and some fun world PvP action!

Mmmh will see! I'll let them attack me first I think ;) because, most of the time if you attack a green it is auto win right? so... can't see the fun if there is no challenge and waste someone's time just for "honor" points..

So, no way to rival against fat gear high ranked pvp or pve with auction-house-bought gear?

well most horde players are bad. not saying you can't destroy that rank 13 chinese cow warrior who sucks at the game but it would be a challenge.
