Polymorph and hunter pets

Do hunters have some ability that prevents their pets being polymorphed? Or are certain pets immune to it?
Because often the ability simply won't cast when a hunter pet is targeted, with the message "Invalid Target". You can stand there for 5+ seconds spamming the ability and nothing will happen - which makes me think that there must be some hunter mechanic that prevents it. Is this true?

I've had this happen on my druid as well with hibernate. I'm not really sure what's up with it and would like some feedback as well.

Its a common nostalrius bug you cant even attack the pet, same situation with the bug where you cant cap the flag in AB... only solution is kill the hunter =)

Greetings,
Please report hunters that abuse this bug through ingame tickets.
Best regards,
GM Team.

I would like to know how you can put your pet as "invalid target" on purpose. Instead of telling people to report it to GMs, maybe tell them first to put this on the bugtrucker, because it is a bug first of all.

it's about 90% of all hunter pets, I doubt it's a bug they willingly abuse
