(A) Preparing for TBC Arena - what Race/Proff?

Thanks vathdaar, that helps a lot.

I was looking through the benefits for professions as well and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMXCGpYz8kE It looks like gathering professions have no perks. Alchemy looks useless. The Engineering head looks promosing. Enchanting gives better stats than Jewelcrafting. Blacksmithing is a no brainer for Warriors.

What are the best professions to take for Arena?

Druid/warrior (alliance ) : Nelf/ Gnome
Pala/Warrior (alliance) : Dwarf/dwarf
Druid/rogue (Horde) : Tauren/Ud
Priest/rogue (Horde): Ud/UD
Pala(retri)/ shaman (Horde) : Be/orc
Shaman/warrior (horde) Orc/orc
Warlock/druid (Horde) : Ud/tauren
SP/ Mage (Horde): Ud/Ud

but still a lot of this combinations would work as good or even better as for secondary alliance races against some combos , Aka LD in alliance ( Nelf/gnome) or Priest/warr in alliance playing doubble Dwarf or Gnome/dwarf.

This is nothing new there have been plenty of private servers and research about meta in tbc for combination /races. if you have any doubt and i can answer just write it here. Refrain from listening to people past experiences of " IN RETAIL I DID THIS OR THAT". Aka the famous HUMAN MASTER RACE PERCEPTION LOL.

no hunter druid listed, born after TBC was released confirmed. but then again it's probably gonna be about as blizzlike as nost

druid hunter has got alot of counters though, but also retardedly strong versus some otherwise godmode comps. it's most typical paper scissor rock, you pound scissor super hard but get rekt by paper which is 70% of comps :Pppp

i dunno, it could beat any comp but could lose vs 2 dps. only shitty part is how long your average games are, but it aint that much diff from war dru in that area.

tbc 2v2 was pretty cancerous now that i think about it

I'd go for engineering & jewelcrafting. That was what I had back in the day too.

And I also think that is the best, because as far as I remember, they introduced gems which had more stats compared to other professions such as blacksmithing (belt socket) and enchanting (ring enchants)

Does anyone know if Taurens have bigger hit and hurt boxes on Nostalrius just like it was on retail?

Being able to hit enemies through the Nagrand pillar as a Warrior was pretty nasty. The bigger hurtboxes also made Tauren a worse choice for classes such as Shaman, Hunter and Druid to a lesser degree. Druids just have no alternative if they decide to go Horde.
