Hi,
while I've been doing a lot of Vanilla in the past I found some annoying things about mobs using their abilities too often in comparison to what I remember. However, this occurs on some mobs, not all.
E.g. Murlocks with blind (50% meele hit reduction), they affect you with a new blind before your first debuff has gone out. So you are constantly blinded. Or mobs with the rooting ability, chain root you, etc.
I think that on the retail servers an additional cooldown was added when they monsters hit their abilities, or they had some sort of attack configuration so that even if an ability is ready the mobs sometimes auto attack anyway.
A suggestion would be to add some sort of dynamic cooldown increase for monsters with disarm, blind, root:
- if mob successfully hit a spell, increase cooldown ( hard to say how much thoough)
- or, even if the monster's ability is ready for use it may auto attack instead, like a % chance to use the ability
This sure is very hard to implement sucessfully to make it feel blizz-like but, I wanted to share my experience from leveling.
