[Serious Discussion] Create Asian PvP server

How do we even know the Chinese will move to a second PvP server? If they dont, its only a matter of months before we have two overpopulated PvP realms dealing with the same issues.

This won't fix the population issue by that much, sure you won't have 12k online but still expect 8-10k at peaks with NA and Euro still playing on the same server. I know one of the big issues lies with staffing and money as the main excuse for not doing this, but that just leads me to believe staff bit off wayyy more than they could chew with this project.

I really wish they had a couple 3-4k capped PvP servers, this is more of a hindsight issue though, no one really could've guessed the population would get this big. They could start the new servers at 1.2 again with no transfers or they could open new servers that have all the same patch as the current PvP. It seems like allowing transfers would really be unfair to fresh lvl 1s and theres no way one could allow a transfer if the new server was at the beginning of the patches again.

I was thinking of something sort of similar to the forced transfer option, but instead of creating a fresh server and forcing a transfer, why not just copy the server in it's entirety as it is and lock access of the current server to only US and EU while opening a new sever with the copy as a base accessible only from Asia?

It's in my humble and short opinion that the ''chinese'' players you are speaking of should play on a secondary server or at least not on Nostalrius PvP.

Most players likely would, once critical mass is reached. The problem is if it does't reach critical mass. Few people would transfer to a dead server.

Personally I'd like to see them stay, with some sort of pseudo-fix for BGs. Something like "choose your preferred language" and then only mix teams if the queue gets too long (horde china vs. ally english would ofc always be ok). This obviously assumes that the Nost team gets issues like lag tied to population under control.

I enjoy tanking the AV war masters on my priest because of a warrior tank from said "non racist/discriminated guild" being stuck on follow to another said "non racist/discriminated guild" who is running around in circles.
