smilkovpetko is a retard. He's posting literally the total number of characters that existed on a server ever, including bank alts and all the level 1's that people rolled and then abandoned, etc. No Blizzard vanilla server ever had 10k or 14k people online at the same time. The servers had enforced population caps with login queues, and 10k online would have been literally impossible to manage with the server architecture they were using back then. 10k people isn't even manageable in 2015, as can be seen on Nostalrius now. What on earth makes you think it was manageable 10 years ago?

Even if the bogus statistics he's trying to claim were accurate, who cares? He's actually arguing against his own point, saying that 9.7k people supposedly online over a 24 hour period for AQ CRASHED THE SERVER. So how is that good? Huh? He's literally pointing out how terrible and unmanageable something was as an example of why things should be that way now. Fucking dumb.

Same goes for the argument that EU vanilla servers had Russians who never interacted with the English-speaking players. So what? How is that good? IT'S NOT. A good server has a consolidated community where all the players can communicate with one another. We already have half the damn server we can't even talk to ingame. It's called the opposite faction. I don't need my own faction to have thousands of players I can't communicate with. That's just stupid. There is nothing fun or useful about it. It just sucks. Even the Chinese players want to have their own server, and there is absolutely no reason not to give them one.

I underline your racism words. Just in case to let you know that English is not a whole world. English is used by 10 Nations maximum (1-5% of the world) and is used as optional communication around the world. But English is not mandatory to be used by others in their privacy life/chat/in game non public channels/groups.

The general rule is speak English in Global and public chats, all stuffs are written in English but are not mandatory anywhere outside this 2 places.

^ first of all about 30% of the planet speaks English either natively or as a second language. Roughly the same percent speaks Chinese of some form(Putonghua, Hokkien, Cantonese) as a first or second language. These groups do not have much overlap. That is to say, there are not as many people who speak BOTH English and Chinese, regardless of their native language, as there are people who speak only one or the other. The fact that I have to point this out to you is disappointing but not surprising.

Second of all the argument of the guy you quoted made was not "ban everyone from speaking anything besides English ever" but "open a Chinese server so that both speakers of Chinese and speakers of English can more easily group with people who they share a language with".
you think it be like it is but it's don't

Actually, English is the international trade language. You cannot fly a plane without speaking it no matter what country you're in. There's a good reason the majority of US and English folks never learn a 2nd language. We don't have to. None 9f this has anything to do with the population of Nostalrius though.

I have played when the server is around 5k people on and it's perfect.
Not overpopulated and the server runs smooth. Increased draw distance.

You should definitely do something about the overpopulation!
