Dragons of Nightmare and the current Population?

When I just think about the Azuregos spawn, were we already had issues with Spybots, evading the boss so others don’t get the kill etc. I mean playing 3 month at level 60 on Nostalrius and didn’t see Azuregos once does not feel “blizzlike” (even for casuals).


What will you do with Dragons of Nightmare to make the “feeling” blizzlike again?


The current population is 5 times higher than a “crowded” retail server during end of classic wow.


Also the population is distributed over all different time zones. On retail server you had some people online at late night or in the morning but not that many. Thus, it took some time to fill a raid, which also allowed to get more Guild mates online. Sometimes you had to wait, not for the Dragon to spawn... for the people to kill it.


When it comes to killing the World Dragons (including Azuregos) it was hard on retail Servers (very hard on the crowded), if you just had 3-4 well organized and competing Guilds on your server. On Nostalrius now we have more than 20 guilds that could compete for it and only 40 people max will be allowed to see loot.


Will you adjust the respawn based on the overpopulation?
(Respawn on retails was between 3 Days and 7 Days for max 2,5k players online)
Or will be Dragon kills/loot rarer than Thunderfury?

This has nothing to do with the server population. Even on private server(s) with population below that of a Blizzlike server it was no different, an increased spawnrate will not help you. Either way, there is already a thread on this topic, please use the search function and avoid making redundant suggestions in the future.

Are you sure?
We aint talking about other private servers, we talk about "blizzlike".
Because a higher population means more people camping it, plus the online times between diffrent times zones will makes it much harder to see a dragon if you aint available 24/7 or have a notification system(Spybot/Player) / spawn timer. More spawns -> more options to see it? Was it too simple for you to get it?

Please use your brain in the future.

As you said world boss mean organization.

Make with your guildies 3 wl 20 alt, stack them in world boss spawn, spy them = get the world boss first. + make an alliance with other guild. (Skype, facebook, vyber ...)

If you cant do that, just avoid world boss, simple as that.

A strong PvE guild needs strong PvP'ers aswell or you can make a cross trough world bosses

There are some things you just can't recreate 10 years later. They would have to instance the outdoor bosses to even come close to the experience most people who killed these bosses on retail had. And they obviously will not do that.

Or do something where 10 dragons spawn simultaneously all over the world and if you are tagged with a kill you get a debuff that makes you unable to get within 300y of another dragon for 1h. I sincerly doubt they would do something like this either.

Anyway, spawntimers will certainly not be enough for something like this. So don't expect to kill a green dragon while it is relevant content even if you cleared BWL easily and are competent enough.

Faster spawn = more kills for guilds that dominate wbosses :)

You are clueless. Perhaps it's hard for you to imagine, but it is always the same guilds on either faction that get the world bosses. AND its not just Nostalrius, it's been the same way on Emerald Dream too, despite it having a population lesser than that of a retail vanilla server. The only difference is that fighting over world bosses happened on smaller scale, involving less guilds, so actually even less people got to see them.

So, will increased spawnrate change this situation? Not a damn chance. Do you think that if WB's will spawn daily, big guilds will nicely let them live sometimes, so casual players could experience the authenic vanilla World Boss fighting™? No, said guilds will just get more loot, and if daily fighting over spawns becomes too exhaustive, they will start wintrading the WB spawns, same way premades trade wins in BGs.

Clueless? No, sorry, but maybe you are a bit low on iq.
Do you really think a guild will dominate all worldbosses when they have like 6h Respawntimer? That would be one hell of effort, resources and dedication. Perhaps some guilds will try for the first weeks, but after you got most of the gear people will lose interst in it and the next Guild will push for the kills.
So yes, there can be domination, but can you keep it up 24/7 ? No way... pugs will do it after a few weeks/month like on retail, because the big guild lost intrest in it.

And please dont use Feenix or Emerald Dream as a good representation for vanilla wow.
