This is temporary suggestion for test , how to prevent gold sellers

remove all letter that contain .com , .net , .org from lookingforgroup , world, trade, general , whispers, mailbox
remove all the familiar goldsellers website names in similar direction

you can try and switch them with using "different acronyms" example when someone say the name of the website for "gold selling" the website automatically will be posted as different name .

for example in peenix this was used against "core-----" where instead of "core-----" was automatically switch into atha----- is the best and i fucking love it.

the problem with changing chat messages or preventing them from appearing in chat is the "free" testing the spammers get until they find a way to properly advertise it,

thus the only way is banning those accounts which the server does not want to be too strict on to prevent false positives

they can still protect that way too , by c o m (also renamed)

anything connected on similar ways can be used as rename (which consist last 3 letters like that) even with spaces between

All spam messages have a few things in common - a website address, "gold", "$", quite often also "delivery", "sell" and so on. While spammers can try to circumvent the address detection, they have a limited number of symbols to use. What we need is a frequently updated algorithm that would detect suspicious messages based on words most commonly used in ads, which would be then sent to game masters or some other kind of supervisors. A quick glance is enough to judge whether the message is spam or not - if it is, the GM/supervisor would just run a quick command, blocking all instances of the message (and its derivatives with replaced letters, changed spacing or random letter insertions at the end). Since spamming relies on repeating exactly the same message (or with superficial, easily detectable changes), a batch of bots would be then neutralized with just one click of the GM.

Not likely, have you seen the amount of gold spammers?
You could combine it with a check of whether that person has recently been ignore by hundreds of players. That should probably do the trick.

Pff, just use Spam Throttle addon which automatically blocks and ignores keywords from players. I just add all "powerleveling" "gold sell" and alike.
