You should try check for a guildmate that has the recipe if you are that worried about being scammed. However scamming is a bannable offence and if tragedy strikes you can just report him

Another idea is checking your friendlist. Ask People on there (that are in the different guild than you.) if THEY have guild members with the recipe.

But I have not seen alot of People getting scammed so I would not worry too much my friend
