Great post. Totally agree. Thanks to all the awesome players that made this experience awesome. Damnit, this is a real community.

I just have to end on a closing note with this. These are the kind of things that made vanilla wow so fucking awesome and hilarious to me. Props to Dr Phil for making it. I cannot stop laughing:

I discovered the server around last August, and since the first day I started playing, it was a blast. Sadly I did not make it to 60, ended up around 52. I had too much school work going on, but did really enjoy the friends I had made. Even when I would go offline for months they would always welcome me back the second I came online.
<Lemons>, this guild was the first I joined at level 4 and would stay for as long as I could. Thanks for all the great experiences I had to the guild, other players, and most importantly the staff of the server.

Here's a picture of my journey, long ago in the barrens.

I'll see you all wherever the Database or the quality of this server ends up somewhere else.

I can't begin to express my sadness, not for my character being gone. But the adventure wasn't finished.

Well, guess that's the end. It was a wild ride, hope to see some familiar faces around wherever I decide to play next (still undecided)

Amen brother. You hit the point exactly. That's something that Blizzard in it's current form just doesn't get anymore.

It began long ago...

I recall helping many of the opposing faction during my journey, despite all the ganking. Just the kind of orc I am, I guess.

There weren't too many memorable moments for me, though I'll never forget those I've given a helping hand to. Night Elf Huntress that was having trouble with Myzrael, that means you, too! :)

At any rate...some screenies.

Image
There's a new land over the horizon! Let us set sail!

Image
A few other adventurers and Maharok exploring an old crypt near a large, dark tower. Karazhan!

Image
The ascent to Hyjal. The last chapter for this Legend of Crushridge.

Image
A brief moment of respite during the Hyjal climb.

Image
Seems like the world has already started to fade. Time to go!

Image
The chapter nears a close, but there a few things left to do...

Image
The world's final moonrise. The end is near.

Image
The remaining Nostalrius Horde family comes together for a last hurrah!

The next morning...

Image
One last march into the flames.

Image
And thus the journey of Senior Sergeant Maharok Bloodaxe finally ends here, under the trees near the Well of Eternity.

Image
So it goes.

After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.

I honestly don't think there will ever be a private server as perfect as Nostalrius was. They did everything right, most private servers have some fun-like settings like 7x XP or custom shit like shop malls and such, and those with payments and donation rewards (which are down-right illegal btw so don't get me started on that). Nostalrius didn't have any bullshit, i don't know if anyone can ever be as good as Nost... or how long it will take for a new candidate to show up...
