I've said this in another thread but I'll say it again here :

I think that the best option would be to re-release the old PvE and PvP server and release a new PvP server. The original Nost PvP server felt unplayable at peak times, especially with the population hitting close to 15K. If the server ever re-opens, there will likely be enough new players to just create a realm for them (plus old players looking to start anew)

But there are also players who had put a ton of work into their characters, and as Viper said "In the end, pleasing the community is the only thing which should matter" I don't think any part of the community would be displeased in getting their characters back.

Personally, I had a 60 Druid and 50 Rogue. I wouldn't mind restarting my rogue because it wasn't level 60 and I used it for mainly PvP purposes. My druid was my first 60 and I barely got to enjoy it before Nost announced shutdown. I don't think I can bring myself to level balance druid again 1-60.

As you said, if you want to please the community, side with both and bring back the old characters and release a new realm.

I would prefer our characters back but I expect a fresh start.
I have 2 horde 60s and 2 Alliance 60s. I'd love to play even one of them again, but I didn't expect to ever again, so if we HAVE to start fresh I'd understand.

At this point, I'd settle for a definite answer.

Fresh start servers attract the most players and also give Nost more time to get future content in better shape and within original progression timelines.

I don't care either way.

Fresh start would attract a lot of people.
I'm not sure how many people would still play on Nostalrius when it starts with the old data.

I don't mind either way. But it would be better for the server population if it was a fresh start.

I don't care either way.

If they had any intention of ever continuing the server, they would've spent the last half a year to finish vanilla content. We'll see what they did.

Look at all the <60 scrubs wanting a fresh start!
The serious guilds want to continue with AQ progression instead of wasting another year on MC/BWL

But all this talk is retarded since they're announcement will probably be "it's been fun, we tried hard, we got so far, we loved the journey, but we all need to move on now, cya and gl!"

I wouldn't worry about it. There's no way they won't need at least one new server. The hype is already huge, and they haven't even officially announced a relaunch yet. When / If they do, shit is gonna be bonkers... with every gaming site talking about it.
