900 + dps on patchwerk is possible. Don't expect to go over 1k tho.

Mmm you would, even with that mediocre dps (especially in late bwl gear stages) its a safe dps, hunter never overaggro (unless l2p issues) which is extra value for progression raids when people don't know yet if/when they can go ham. So hunters makes for safe dps for progg raids but thats my opinion... ofc I'm considering a tryharding hunter, if you slack on hunter, dont bring consumables, let your pet die to first boss aoe, are lazy with strict rotations... well expect your dps to be slightly above your nightfall pala;p If you tryhard you can compete for top 10 in various stages of the game... bwl is bad place for hunter tho. Also hunters are good to have (its extra ress with jumper cables with fd for oh shit moments) and well the more hunters you have the less mouths to feed (rogues and warriors... imagine your roster with 4 more... drama for loot would be real)

If a hunter is sniffing your top 10 spots, then the rest of your dps is trash. Assuming equal skill/gear of course. I like bringing hunters though, well besides their ass pulling pets.

Assuming equal skill... hmm thats hard to tell tbh cause those who consider themselves skilled tend to roll warrior/rogue/mage because they are commonly known to be easiest to top meters. So you often got a subpar players picking hunters and they don't even try to go high because they get told hunter can't be any high due to class balance... so they end up settling with their tranq shot duty and slack rest of the raid.

I had few attempts competing with my guild top dps and even tho I admit I never won (oh well once I was 1st on rag but I guess my raid lost their world buffs and I kept them) I was able to secure my top 10 spot at these times. Ofc getting into top 10 as hunter is probably 10 times more effort than getting in top 10 with geared fury or rogue so thats the issue... I could not possibly maintain that level every raid because its too tiresome.

Long story short... pick hunter if you want to have 6k hp or more 41 yard char that can drop 3k aimeds on clothies + double multishot with charm of beast for lulz. Although be prepared to tryhard beyond reason just to float somewhere near the surface... you won't win the race but you will provide help... u'll have to work 10 times more than warrior but u can do that ;p

http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/Ranki ... ssLimit=Hu

That gives you some idea of what hunters are capable of. Note that Realmplayers has purged most raid stats from Nostalrius, so these are from other realms, so don't stare at individual numbers too much. Just give you a ballpark figure.

So Rikku/Exceptionz & Redcoat are all in my guild on Kronos. I think Rikku's numbers were because of Super bugged raptors that did like 700dps on it's own. I'll have to ask him, but besides that outlier, the rest do commendable dps, but not great dps. Assuming equal gear/skill, your dps charts will look like this:

http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidO ... Raid=53569
or
http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/RaidO ... Raid=53045

and that's with having to Off-tank certain bosses(bug trio/sartura) & trash(Vel'Kinash Warriors/Sentinel Packs/Mindflayer packs etc.)

Even on fights like Ragnoros, super ranged advantage, there's barely any hunters there:

http://realmplayers.com/RaidStats/Ranki ... &realm=KRO

The dps on the bottom end lost world buffs, so they're rip, but assuming everyone survives for an entire raid, this is pretty much par for the course.

Nost had bugged pets, lets not forget.
any hunter with a brain can tell you that.

also naming the pet the same as your name causes weird magic on realmplayers.
i'd suggest moving towards legacy logs for a breakdown of what goes on play by play then some gimmick of an addon that can be manipulated with inaccurate values.

https://legacy-logs.com/#
learn their rotations, highest damage sources, etc.
way more informative.
