Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

So there's two scenarios for character copy

#1 Snapshot of characters at one point in time all copied.
-Character names are held in tact by copying everything before character creation is even possible.
-Cannot duplicate gold / BoE items by copying then transferring things to the next character to copy.

#2 Manual copy of player selection.
-Opens up the loss of character names in addition to elective forced re-name.
-Require gold / BoE items not follow to disable duplication.

Seems obvious to go by #1 (the method used for PTR database copy)
Now some blanks ought to filled regarding level restrictions and gold / BoE items being copied.
Also if not a PvE TBC server then character names can cause issue.

So far i know we have to rename our characters after copy been made,
ill be sad panda if i see someone else is walking around with my name.

With new names friends i knew won't recognize me, vise versa.

Hope it's not the final decision i would welcome a grace period of reservation.

this is not how i understand it...
since our characters will be copies, one would assume that the name will follow.

That's true i just found this again.
So it's says we can't change our names so guess we will keep our names? hmm (Hope)

No. We have no plans on allowing anything like this and it would be a massive extra workload that would have to be done ostly manually.

Unknown at this time. No details regarding this have been decided. If you want to be super-duper extra sure, level a character you want to play on the tbc PVP realm to 60 on the current PVP realm. But really, this is all up in the air.

This announcement just marks the official beginning for the Nostalrius TBC project. The TBC realm will not be available for a significant time. Any speculation on a release date is pointless at this time.

4. "Why are you doing TBC when vanilla has bugs/lag/personal pet peeve"

Separate teams. This announcement was also made to recruit more people to help with the project. The existing team will focus on vanilla content, just as Viper stated, and the new TBC team will on the TBC content.
